Married & Celebrated: House on Metolius, Camp Sherman Date: July 22, 2017
MEETING IN THE MIDDLE: “Scott and I both have really big groups of friends and family, so we wanted our wedding to be a gathering of our communities,” says Kelsey. The couple chose House on Metolius for their ceremony and reception because they wanted an unhurried, multiday celebration in a peaceful setting that highlighted the Central Oregon scenery. Family members and the bridal party stayed in cabins on site. During the ceremony, Mount Jefferson was visible through the flower-laced arbor. “It was such a serene day,” says Kelsey.
INSPIRING DESIGN: The rustic setting was balanced by modern design elements, including Lucite chairs and signage, candles in a moody hue and gold-rimmed plates. An elaborate floral installation over the head table lent a romantic, fairy-tale quality to the reception decor.
STAYING COOL: To beat the July heat, the bride gave her attendants sets of lightweight silk pajamas, which they wore while getting ready on the wedding day. After the reception, the night ended with laughter and a spontaneous, chilly dip into the Metolius River.
