The Cedarhurst Estate sits nestled in Lake Oswego, where the property has stood since its initial construction in 1895. Over the past century, the estate has housed the likes of NBA players and Vanderbilts, and a recent restoration and renovation presents a sophisticated wedding day spot that was transformed into an elegant design in this styled shoot.
Everlasting Events planned a vision of inspiration that utilized the estate's understated Victorian architecture and elevated simplicity infusing organic whimsy into the property. Much of the design revolved around a contemporary take on the English Garden Party wedding style that maintains its allure, with a specific focus on highlighting blue hues in florals and décor. Splendid mixtures of garden roses, delphinium and hydrangeas seamlessly wove indoor and outdoor spaces together with dreamy results, giving the entire design a cohesive feel. Greenery was paired with white and peach-hued flora around the property and on tablescapes, a regal contrast to the blues featured, and the entire floral design truly looked as if it was pulled straight from the estate's garden.
The design showcased the ease of romance with models and real-life married couple Sam and Danielle recreating wedding-day moments in style. Sam looked dapper in a fitted suit with a coral tie and boutonniere, a delightfully softened approach to the more traditional black tux. Danielle's custom-made Elle Heavin gown cascaded with ruffles, defined by a high neckline and floral detailing. The day's attire was a vision of tranquility that seamlessly fit into of a garden ambiance while offering a unique take on the style. A staircase swathed with florals set the stage for a first-look moment between our models and showcased the refined design of the Cedarhurst Estate and its many photo-ops.
Details were what set this shoot apart and really solidified the concept and design. The wedding cake was inspired by the gentle movement of colors reflecting in the estate's pool, featuring a delicate recreation of florals in icing. New and old elements of the estate were melded together symbolically with vintage water glasses and crystal champagne flutes at each place setting for a sumptuous and celestial pairing. Cocktail hour inspiration brought a Vespa bar to the property for a refreshing pre-ceremony sip and an invitation suite designed by Letter and Dust transformed warm neutrals into floral art that had a slight moody edge. A highlight of the property is a greenhouse, aged with rustic charm. Elegantly adorned with windows reminiscent of the property's indoor spaces and surrounded by woodland scenery, it truly was a picture-perfect spot for Sam and Danielle to celebrate with a champagne tower. Marlee Bob of Marlee Bob Photo expanded on the vision below.
The inspiration for this shoot was to take a more sophisticated approach to the style of English Garden Party with blues, greens and just a touch of sparkle. Showcasing the venue and the unique elements that it has was also a huge element for us.
