City Cool: Portland Wedding at the Leftbank Annex

Real Wedding

FLIGHT OF FANCY: Kayla described her dream wedding as a “big celebration with a lot of love.” With a guest list that included 300 of their nearest and dearest, it was important to them that the venue allowed for a casual yet romantic feel.

SPOT ON: Leftbank Annex’s cool industrial vibe reminded the couple of Portland and its sometimes tempestuous weather. “I love the feel of a few raindrops on my shoulders, a crispness in the air and a general feel that you are outside, even sometimes when you are inside,” says Jonny. “A space that was open, with big windows but also cement floors and exposed brick seemed like the perfect place.”

EASY DECOR: With such an open space, the couple wanted to keep décor to a minimum. Strings of cafe lights, floating candles and simple centerpieces upon golden linens, succulents and bare wood chairs defined the unfussy design.

SENTIMENTAL TOUCHES: The groom and his father created the wood arch that served as a ceremony backdrop and was decorated with peach roses. “I also loved our guestbook that Jonny made,” says Kayla. “It was a big slab of wood that he sprayed with chalkboard paint, had everyone sign with chalk, and then sealed with a matte finish. It looks great in our living room.”
