Long gone are the days of the one-day-and-done wedding, as we’re seeing more and more couples embrace multiday events to maximize time with loved ones and relieve the pressure of “making the rounds” at the wedding reception. That was the very inspiration for Carisa Smith of Adornment Events when planning this trifecta of soirées at Amaterra in Portland’s West Hills. The winery’s stunning architecture, versatile spaces and sweeping views provided the ultimate Pacific Northwest setting to allow three different designs to flourish.

“The creative behind a wedding weekend is weaving a common thread of style while providing unique experiences for guests for each event,” says Carisa Smith of Adornment Events. “We focused on custom pieces to show thoughtfulness for each person with local curated gifts and venue selections. It was really important to support the Pacific Northwest style with outdoor greens, airy locations and vintage vibes through our designs.”
A bright and cheery brunch—great for a pre- or post-wedding get-together— features a beautiful tableau of textures and colors, incorporating boldly patterned linens, wood and rattan accents, and florals in hues of mauve, blush, white and yellow.
A vintage garden brunch with classic deep navy details and local Northwest blooms of yellows and greenery inspired us to create this unique event. Complete with a Champagne ‘welcome’ cart, a brunch display, berry coffee cake to cut, as well as gifts for guests to take home as a token of gratitude

Lux Sucre crafted a decadent spread of pastries and bites to give brunch attendees endless choices to nosh on, while The Bubbly Bar dressed for the occasion, serving up bubbles and adorable photo ops.
Romance is front and center at an intimate rehearsal dinner set under a tent aglow with twinkle lights against views of Portland. Lucite chairs and dining table framed a one-of-a-kind ombre floral installation beneath the table, wowing guests.
The inspiring thing about the Pacific Northwest is the magical calm the trees bring. To create an outdoor romantic event moment, we designed this tablescape with clear tables and vintage place settings so guests could focus on the ombre floral path beneath them and the stars above.
