Amid all the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, Michael Coon and Kurtis Owen found something to rely on: each other. The couple met online and quickly bonded over movie nights, shared laughter and wine tasting. Abbey Road Farm’s winery was the perfect venue—as an architect, Michael adored the elegant design with exposed wood trusses. The couple embraced minimalism in their décor, letting the space’s natural beauty speak for itself. Every unique touch was intentional and expressed Michael and Kurtis’ bold personalities, like the three disco ball chandeliers accented with bright flowers that hung above the reception. Every floral arrangement from Botanica Floral Design featured a bed of dried flowers and pampas grass as a neutral base color palette, with bursts of brighter hues woven in. The sun-drenched outdoor ceremony featured stunning views of the surrounding fields and rolling hills. A set of rainbow smoke cans created an exciting moment, with the release of colorful clouds making for a beautiful photo opportunity. The celebration moved indoors for dinner and dancing, where an array of personal touches added to the warm atmosphere, including napkins featuring the couple’s treasured dogs, Beau and David. Several neon signs included some of their favorite phrases, and rainbows incorporated in the florals celebrated Michael and Kurtis’ authenticity and identity. The dreamy night could not have better represented the couple’s bold and unapologetically fun personalities.
