Elegant Astrology-Inspired Wedding

Real Wedding

Inspired by the autumnal equinox and changing seasons, Marla
and Adam’s wedding at The Historic Overlook House is the perfect example of incorporating
a theme without going overboard. The couple chose an appropriate, yet romantic color
palette of deep reds and purples, and the décor included subtle astrological references
such as a lunar eclipse and crystal rocks. Keep scrolling to see all the photos
and a note from the bride!

A note
from the bride:

"Adam and I chose a date around the
Autumnal equinox. We tried to represent the changing seasons as well as our
individual personalities. We wanted our wedding to have a timeless look and
tried to avoid trends or styles that might look dated down the road.

Most details were DIY projects - all of the flowers,
save the dates, invites and programs. All of our flatware, table decor,
and napkins were vintage. We had a brewer friend make a special batch of
beer to give away as favors. Our friend Emily did an amazing job officiating.
On our budget, we wouldn't have been able to personalize our wedding much at all
without incorporating all of the vintage and DIY aspects - but it was very time
consuming! Friends and family put in so many hours to help us with all of the
preparations. We really felt their love and support throughout the process.

The after party was crucial. We all
went up the street to a favorite bar and sang karaoke late into the night! We
got to have the best of both worlds that day - a beautiful wedding and dinner
with friends and family, and silly fun time for the party animals! Once the
wedding started the stress and nerves melted away and it was all blissful
happiness from the time we walked down the aisle to our sleepy cab ride home."
