Whether an intimate gathering or a 300-person affair, all wedding ceremonies and receptions require at least a few vendors. And at the most recent Oregon Wedding Showcase, held on Oct. 12 and 13 at the Oregon Convention Center in northeast Portland’s Lloyd District, brides- and grooms-to-be met with some of the best wedding professionals in the greater Portland area to get a taste of this year’s top trends.
In addition to a fabulous fashion show and delicious food samples, the showcase featured exhibits from vendors in 44 wedding-related categories, offering services from alterations to videography.
Many exhibits featured today’s top wedding trends; among them, acrylic signage. Amanda Donahue, owner of calligraphy and illustration studio The Scribblist, explained why in her opinion, this particular fad is sure to endure:
“Acrylic signage was a huge trend for 2019, and there's no end in sight! It feels modern, chic, and adds an unexpected element to the day-of decor,” she told Oregon Bride via email. “What's great about acrylic is that there are so many ways to customize the look, both through custom painted backgrounds and the varying styles of calligraphy that can be used on it … without breaking the bank.
“It can really tie together the whole look for the day-of celebration,” Donahue added.
