Gracie and Colin wed in late September at Abbey Road Farm in a showcase of autumnal colors which paid homage to the couple's roots. Gracie and Colin met in Humboldt after being introduced by Gracie's brother (and Colin's basketball teammate), and their love story blossomed quickly, notably featuring their first kiss on a classic autumn day. Gracie and Colin uniquely share an affinity for their favorite season, and adding their wedding anniversary to the list of autumn events including both of their birthdays was an easy choice. Abbey Road Farm had a striking resemblance to Colin's upstate New York hometown and the couple was enamored with the property's feel, choosing to actualize their nuptials with a "boho boujee" design.
Motifs of their day included hues of rust and dried florals featuring pampas grass throughout ceremony and reception design. In a unique take, the altar was framed by two geometric white installations with florals crafted by Wildflower Hill Floral, adding a definite aura of modernity to the day. Gracie added her own boho touch to her look with a BHLDN cape and kept things glamorous with a glitzy hair accessory. Colin's blue three-piece suit epitomized classic menswear with a timeless look and gave him a few options of looks for photos. To get the nerves out before the ceremony, Gracie and her bridesmaids popped champagne and enjoyed a toast together, which ended up being one of her fondest memories of the day. Colin was sure to bring Gracie's family traditions to his wedding morning, paying homage to her dad with a special twist. "All the groomsmen and groom take a shot of Jack to calm the nerves before the ceremony. This tradition started when my dad was in his 20s and he says every friend and family member who was a groom that has partaken has had a happy marriage," Gracie explained.
Rustic flair was complimented with sleek white décor in the reception space, which featured huge windows lining the walls allowing for an influx of natural light to infuse the space. Luxurious rust table runners adorned the sweetheart table, and linens and signage followed suit. Boho arrangements were framed in bud vases around tables, designed by the bride's sister Jessa, and arrangements from the ceremony were repurposed with the altar to frame our newlyweds in style. Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars provided the champagne for Gracie and Colin's showstopping champagne tower, extra meaningful as the Winery hails from Colin's hometown in New York. For their guest book, the couple opted to use a coffee table book about marsh birds, a nod to their days in Humboldt birdwatching.
