Wedding Date: June 15, 2019
SALUTING THE SOX Because David Alger is a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and both he and Danielle Gomez have family in the Boston area, they wanted to incorporate a few Red Sox–related details into their big day. Instead of traditional pillows, the ring bearers carried custom baseball gloves. And for their recessional song, the couple chose “Sweet Caroline,” the unofficial anthem of their beloved team. To round out the Beantown-inspired bash, they served a Boston lager at their reception in addition to various wines.
A FAMILY AFFAIR It was important to the couple that they include their family members in the wedding celebration—one brother was ordained so he could officiate their ceremony, and the bride’s aunt made her version of Almond Roca from scratch for party favors. The bride’s aunt also custom-made a handbag for the bride to use on the big day, created with fabric from Danielle’s mother’s wedding dress; it served as Danielle’s “something old.” The family focused theme carried through to an intimate table set up under a vine-covered arbor, where they dined alfresco and enjoyed each other’s company.
