John Ross Music

John Ross Music and Production got its start in 2004 when owner, John Ross, began officially offering his services to Portland area brides and grooms. What began as a part-time job working a handful of weddings each summer quickly grew into a full time job in 2009 when John worked 50 weddings.

The simple idea of live music and DJ service from one vendor caught on across the region and in 2010 the company began adding more musician/DJs to its roster. In 2011 the company leased office space, hired its first Administrative Assistant and continued to grow.

Oregon Bride Magazine first recognized the musician/DJs at John Ross Music and Production as the “Best Ceremony Musicians” in the state in 2013. The company won that same award again in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018, also adding the “Best Reception Band” honor to its list of achievements. In 2019 the company had a “coming of age moment” winning both “Best Ceremony Musicians” and “Best DJ Company” in the state according to Oregon Bride. It was a major accomplishment to be recognized by clients and the wedding vendor community as true pros at both key services we provide. The company has continued to add talented staff to its roster. As of 2021, the company employs 8 different musician/DJs, 3 DJ/MCs, as well as a full time office manager to serve its clients.
