A handcrafted wedding dress made with fabrics sourced from all over the globe; a groom’s ring made from raccoon bones; a party thrown at the bride’s historic family home: all these details and more that words could never do justice make up Alexandra and William's lavishly-themed, ultra-personalized wedding. Informed by the Edwardian theme— the time period of 1901 to 1910, covering the reign of King Edward VII—luxurious vintage touches like the bride’s giant, foliage-heavy bouquet and hints of lace could be found at every turn.
Photographer Sarah of Hazelwood Photo tells us "Alexandra wore an Edwardian-inspired custom gown designed and created
by her aunt who sourced vintage fabric and lace as she traveled the
world. She spent years traveling the globe sourcing vintage lace,
buttons and fabrics from various countries in order to create the gown
and it was made entirely by hand." From the test tube cocktails—nods to their careers as neuroscientists—to the opulent taxidermy birds covering the reception tables, every detail of these newlyweds’ Jacksonville nuptials was infused with personality and vintage charm. Not to mention the guests themselves, who were encouraged to play along and dress up according to the theme!
