Kristy and Joey first connected through the dating app Bumble, and after debating the controversial topic of whether or not pineapple belongs on pizza (they both agreed it did), there was no looking back. After a whirlwind year and a half of dating and the adoption of a puppy, Joey popped the question. The Waverley Country Club presented a classic setting for Kristy and Joey’s elegant event, and stunning photo ops at the golden hour resulted in unforgettable snapshots. Bride Kristy said, “I wanted to mix a more modern, contemporary vibe with the Old World colonial style of the venue.” During the ceremony, the couple paid tribute to their parents, honoring their Korean and Chinese cultures. The event’s lush floral design featured roses, orchids and bleached foliage, with minimal greenery. The focus of the color palette was cream, ivory and muted pinks. One standout element of the décor was its elaborate, unique signage in shades of blush and with cutting-edge shapes. Including small but personally meaningful details throughout their event was essential for the couple, and adorable acknowledgements of Kristy and Joey were abundant, from fun facts about them printed on napkins to monogrammed ice cubes. Bride Kristy said the best part of the day was walking down the aisle to her husband for the first time—and, of course, dancing barefoot to “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
