Amaterra Winery hosted Molly and Ryan's Portland wedding day, which was a gorgeous modern fete with hints of a glamorous bygone era. The winery venue boasts dazzling views of the Willamette Valley and features an array of unique spaces with industrial influence and refined simplicity; the property is there to mold seamlessly into wedding day designs with a stately subtlety. Sophisticated hints of color found their way into the palette ranging from buttercup yellows to baby pinks, which accented sleek white lines and details.
Molly's first look was a regal gown with floral detailing and dramatic sleeves, a creation with undeniably gorgeous touches. Groom Ryan kept things classic with a black-tie look that teased garden whimsy with a boutonniere made of single-variety white daises. Both bride and groom paid homage to classic wedding tradition with their looks but built in enough room to explore and infuse a more modern, personal style. Molly eventually adorned a second dress during the reception that was a fringe-tiered mini that oozed '20s glam.
A central décor piece for the ceremony was expansive vineyard views, which framed an opulent floral arrangement marking the altar. Molly and Ryan opted for a more understated take on ceremony décor that epitomized the beauty of elegant simplicity and kept focus on florals and the vista. An alfresco reception transformed dramatic banquet tables into a gorgeous site for a sit-down dinner. Florals for both ceremony and reception explored texture with dahlias and snap-dragons woven throughout; florals also expanded on the delicate neutral palette with deeper shades of red and orange. Bud vases were arranged as centerpieces and tablescapes kept things simple for a refined look that echoed the timeless feel of many elements from the day. A final touch that was a lovely contemporary twist on classic was a cake made by Dream Cakes; the two-tiered confection was a minimalistic detail adorned with just a few lovely daisies.
