Blue Crush (above)
Replete with a ruffled cloth in midnight blue organza by La Tavola Linen (available for rent through Something Borrowed), the table is set for a celebration of romance. Sarah Blasi of Selva Floral Design in Portland crafted a cascading centerpiece featuring hellebore, anemones, ranunculus, poppies, bachelor buttons and eucalyptus. Napkins from Sur La Table. Plates and flatware from Crate and Barrel. Glasses available at Something Borrowed in St. Johns.
Local Spread
A classic whiskey sour becomes a signature drink as dreamed up by Portland’s Crave Catering. Using egg whites from Crave’s own farm to achieve a frothy texture, lemon juice, sugar, and whiskey from Portland’s 4 Spirits Distillery are shaken with crushed ice and topped with Oregon pinot noir for a splash of color. Wil and Kris Hansen, the husband-and-wife catering team behind Portland’s White Pepper, created a wow-worthy hors d’oeuvres platter that includes Olympia Provisions salami, prosciutto, Oregon blue cheese, winter citrus and their own house-made pickles. Goblets from Something Borrowed.
Blue Notes
Talk about custom: Each invitation is hand-lettered in watercolors by Holly Schnackenberg of Portland’s Oregon Girl Designs. Invites and RSVP cards also come with watercolor envelope liners. Prices begin at $25 each. Flowers by Selva Floral Design.
Takes the Cake
Simple and classic describes Palace Cakes’ wedding-cake design philosophy. Without sacrificing taste, the downtown Portland shop uses only natural ingredients and decorates its popular lemon chiffon cake with sugared lemon peel over a buttercream frosting. Vintage cake stand from Something Borrowed.
