I’ll admit, I’m absolutely swooning over Amanda and Collin’s self-described “Shakespeare In Love garden party” wedding. Gorgeous details abound on this beautiful day—the beautiful naked poppy seed cake adorned with figs and flowers, the vintage heart-backed reception chairs adorned with “bride” and “groom” lettering—I could go on and on! Of course, as a writer, I have a soft spot for anything inspired by one of the greats, so I’m also loving the signature cocktail (Billy Shakes) and the framed Shakespeare quotes littered about the event. Oregon Garden's classic gardens and woodsy feel served as a relaxed, ultra-pretty setting for this lovely affair. Amanda’s sumptuous foliage-filled bouquet by Swoon Floral Design, composed of a balance of pastels and brights, is a lovely example of keeping on-trend in a subtle way. However, most beautiful of all are the photos of the couple together—don’t they just radiate happiness? As The Bard himself once said, love is “a fire sparkling in lovers’ eyes,” and I can see it in the eyes of these newlyweds! Keep scrolling to see for yourself.
"Amanda Edwards and Collin Wright were wed at Oregon Gardens on August 2nd, 2014. Amanda, a high school English teacher at Westview High School, was inspired to create a whimsical "Shakespeare In Love Garden Party" theme, and every single aspect of their wedding day emanated Amanda's romantic vision. From blush toned bridesmaid dresses from BHDLN to lush floral arrangements boasting dahlias and garden roses by Swoon Floral Design, each detail was meticulously designed by Amanda and brought to life by an amazing team of local vendors. Amanda added in a personal touch with DIY Shakespeare confetti, rustic signs singing Shakespearan quotes, and garden seed party favors. The Oregon Garden provided an enchanting backdrop for the events of the day. The Market Garden was used for the ceremony, and guests enjoyed a warm and lovely outdoor reception at The Bosque.
Even with all of the beautiful details, Amanda and Collin's favorite memories revolve around spending ample time with family and friends in the hours before the ceremony, and dancing the night away under an open starry Oregon sky."
