You know what they say, “April showers...”
Abby Foster and Ian Ellenwood’s love story began on Bumble four years ago, and it’s been an adventure ever since. The couple, who now live in Salt Lake City, knew they wanted something simple yet personal for their wedding. So, they decided to elope in Waldport on the Oregon coast with their parents by their side. Ian’s dad officiated the intimate ceremony, and Abby created her own bouquet, keeping things beautifully minimal. As they drove toward the coast, they stopped in Eugene to pick up a local cake, adding another personal touch to their day. They found a stunning spot right off the highway to exchange vows before heading to Strawberry Hill for their portraits.
And that’s when the rain came—a torrential downpour. But the couple remained unphased. With the weather far from ideal, the couple embraced the downpour, laughing and running through the rain, wrapped in each other’s arms—her in Doc Martens, and him in a bolo tie. While most brides might cringe at the thought of getting soaked, for Abby and Ian, it was the perfect symbol of their love: spontaneous, joyful and completely their own. The day was as unorthodox as their style, and it couldn’t have been more fitting.
