Soft Pink Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony Wedding

One of my favorite things about working for Oregon Bride is that I get little glimpses into the lives of people from all walks of life, who so graciously tell me their love stories and show me with words and images how they incorporate their cultures and families into one-of-a-kind wedding days. In the case of Lin and Frank, the newlyweds performed a traditional Chinese tea ceremony to honor Lin’s culture, but also incorporated a “cranberry ceremony” to honor Frank’s parents and their cranberry farming careers. It’s marriages of of tradition and personalization such as this that create unforgettable, inspiring nuptials. Gorgeous, soft pink florals, traditional Chinese décor, and smiling faces characterize the photos of these intimate “I-do’s.” Keep scrolling to see the entire unique affair and to read what the photographer had to say about the special day!

From the photographer, Bryan Rupp:

"Lin and Frank incorporated both of their cultures into their wedding day to create a seamless and loving environment. Lins family flew in from China while Franks family came in from cranberry farms in Oregon. During their ceremony Lins father gave Frank Lins birth coin that he has been carrying around with him since her birth. The couple and their families also participated in the traditional tea ceremony, but the bride and groom surprised both families by also incorporating a cranberry ceremony to include Franks family and their livelihood. The big thought Bryan had from Lin and Frank’s wedding was “dancing is a universal language.” Some of their friends and family spoke Chinese and some of them spoke English, but despite the fact that they couldn’t communicate easily with language, as soon as the dancing started everyone danced together in a giant dance party. We thought it was profoundly beautiful, and a great testament to the how loving and open this couple is. The details were sweet, the day colorful, and the love profound."
