Crop circles usually suggest an alien touchdown or a farmer’s hoax, but for newlyweds Kendall Gisholt, 25, and Nathan Smith, 26, of Coquille, it was the perfect expression of their love. After Kendall and Nathan said their vows at a private farm in Coquille, photographers Rachel and Matthew Southmayd of Pixy Prints Photography scouted out a spot in the tall grass for a memorable photo op. Matthew stomped through the high greenery to achieve a perfect heart while Rachel was lifted 20 feet in the air atop the property owner’s boom lift to snap the image. Such inspired and impromptu shots are the norm for this Central Point–based husband-and-wife team. “As a photographer, all I do is think about ideas and compositions for pictures,” says Rachel. “When I’m driving, trying to fall asleep or when I should be doing the dishes, my mind is daydreaming of ideas for shots.” For Kendall and Nathan, this one in particular is a dream come true.
