Oregon Wedding Day Spring Summer 2025

A vibrant cityscape soirée was on the menu when Lemonseed Events dreamed up this playful shoot at The Nines’ beloved Departure rooftop. While most tend to embrace the Departure deck for ceremonies, this team switched things up and focused on the East deck, showcasing a fresh perspective and highlighting the venue’s versatility. This newly renovated space is completely covered and features retractable shades, heaters, and everything in between to host a wedding year-round in often-rainy Portland.

Juxtaposed with the skyline, color played the primary role in the day’s scheme, namely with outstanding creations by floral master Page Elliott. Also, statement rental pieces from Arden Event Collective and Lily & Cane infused visual appeal. “We love to create atmospheres that feel fresh, inviting and effortlessly elegant, while also incorporating colors and textures to highlight our clients’ personalities,” Lemonseed Events adds.

We were excited to showcase a FRESH vantage point at Departure, while also highlighting the venue’s versatility through the use of BOLD colors.

We wanted a fun and FUNKY, yet upscale approach to frame our couple and still stand out against our unique concrete-and-green Portland city SKYLINE. Using the open frame & asymmetrical lines of a broken arch created explosions of color around our couple while eschewing the traditional FEEL of an arbor.

Sometimes less is more, and sometimes more is more, as was the case with Something Vintage’s “Briar” ivory table linens featuring a bold black lily detail. Funky green napkins with wave details, custom stationery pieces from Script on This, and color-popping centerpieces brought the eclectic tabletop together.

We are always looking at trends and willing to add COLOR and PATTERNS to our events, and this photo shoot was no different. From what we can see, 2025 is bringing color back, and we are HERE for it!

No wedding at Departure would be complete without diving into the food, described by the restaurant as a “modern culinary exploration of Asia brought to life through masterful remixes of land and sea.” From freshly rolled sushi to flavor-filled sides and a perfectly paired bar selection, guests will delight in this decadent dining experience.

Possibly the best part about hosting your day at Departure? Slipping away after your last dance to one of The Nines’ sublimely appointed rooms for a slice of heaven from Banquette.
