OUT OF THE BOX
Bend Weddings and Events owner Magadalyn Hasse gathered rose petals and buds, lavender and rosemary to create natural confetti to toss at the departing couple. After using paper punches to create heart shapes from the rose petals and leaves, she pressed them flat and tossed the botanic mix together in a hand-painted and gilded box. “The confetti is a 100 percent recyclable and eco–friendly,” says Hasse of her creation. “That’s what Oregon is known for.” Prices start at $12/box including eight ounces of confetti.
RAH! RAH!
Taking a cue from the cheer squad, Leann Reece of Ginger + You Events in Portland supplies guests with metallic pom-poms. “They are small and simple not the huge cheerleader style, but that is the idea!” says Reece. Available in different metallic shades of gold and silver, the pom-poms are easily stored in a galvanized bucket for guests to grab before the big moment. En mass, the pom-poms make fun movement while cheering for the happy couple as they depart, says Reece. “They’re great for photos and fun for guests.” Prices start at $15/dozen.
BON CHIC
Inspired by the softness of silks, rich neutrals, and the tradition of the maypole, Breanna Hugon of Petite Abeille Design in Beaverton designed ribbon wands for a playful adieu. Hand-dyed silk ribbons from Silk and Willow and Frou Frou Chic were customized with gold calligraphy by Gypset Creative and features the couple’s names, wedding date, and a wish for a beautiful life ahead. Hougon attached the silk to hand-painted wood dowels that guests can keep as a memento. $12/wand.
