Tropical Holiday Styled Shoot

Although I always spend the holidays in cold weather surrounded by Christmas trees, others like to get away and relax by the beach. That's exactly what the dream team behind this styled shoot wanted to create - a holiday wedding in paradise. The Grand Hotel in Salem featured the classic holiday setting, while palm tree and coral reef decor provided the sun-kissed feeling. Even the bride's look played with the juxtaposition of tropical and traditional with pineapple earrings and mistletoe in her hair! From the photographer:

“I'm always torn between my love for
the traditional white Christmas and my aching for a sun-kissed holiday in the
sand. While I may never have both simultaneously I set my mind to finding the
perfect mix of the two in my wedding dreams!

We wanted to create a bright and
vibrant feel while still keeping it traditional and elegant. The Grand Hotel was
the perfect venue for setting the tone of the classic holiday season with
marble floors, luxurious red velvet settees and festive holiday décor. Holiday
wreaths beautifully draped the walls and 'The Twelve Days of
Christmas,' brought a childlike wonderment to the space.

While we didn't have sun, we made sure
to create the atmosphere with a gorgeous, lace frock from H & M Formals. To
tie it all together for a classic and formal affair, our brilliant floral designer,
Madison Hartley of Hart Floral Design, created a stunning bouquet of lively and
elegant stems fit to attend the White House or the famed Waikiki beach. Keeping
with the free spirited nature of her look we added wild mistletoe to the
bride's gorgeous locks to ensure she was immersed in love on her day.

The paper goods were some of my
favorite pieces in the set! Belle Hanah Paperie was able to create something
that played true to the tropics and traditional Christmas Poinsettias.

The holiday season is special because
of one thing: love. We kept this in mind in the styling, venue and mood. We
wanted to evoke the nostalgia of Christmas's past, emit the joy and laughter of
a sunny holiday and wrap you up in a bundle of warmth.”
