Wedding at Black Walnut Inn & Vineyard With Posh Mediterranean Touches

Andrea Deniz Herrera Güriş and Jon Robert Orhan İnönüeri celebrated in style at Black Walnut Inn & Vineyard, which is set in the heart of Oregon’s wine country. Andrea and Jon were drawn to each other in part because they share a Turkish heritage, which was represented throughout their wedding day through touches such as Turkish and Persian rugs woven into ceremony décor and evil eyes hung at the entrance to the wedding—a Turkish tradition in which the eyes bestow protection and prosperity. Andrea’s bouquet was filled with dahlias as an homage to her mother, Dalya, while bundles of dried lavender were a romantic addition to the bridal party’s flowers. The reception presented a Mediterranean essence infused with classic décor, a nod to the couple’s travels around the globe. Old-world and antique elements brought an elevated simplicity, with features like terra cotta, stone and other organic materials framing the sophisticated design. Silver and aged brass vessels were filled with potted herbs mixed with fruits, which proved a natural complement to the neutral tablescapes adorned with hints of blue. One of the highlights was the dinner, a menu curated by the groom, who is a chef at McMinnville’s Hayward Restaurant, which was expertly executed by Chef Raul of Magnolia Grill. “Major credit to him and his team for cooking up a fabulous dinner for our wedding,” says Andrea. “His enthusiasm and willingness to work with us made our wedding 100x more memorable!” Andrea’s Guatemalan roots were honored by the band A Caro O Cruz, which performed an acoustic set featuring English, Spanish and Portuguese songs. The evening was a bright beginning to Andrea and Jon’s married life, filled with heartwarming moments of family and friends in an idyllic setting.
