Like roaring fires and fluffy sweaters, hot chocolate is the perfect cozy winter comfort. Operating on this certainty, Elizabeth Young and Jeff Edwards assembled a hot chocolate bar for their guests to enjoy during their December 18, 2010, reception at the Scout Lodge in Philomath, Oregon. The DIY setup included homemade marshmallows, peppermint sticks, candied nuts, whipped cream and syrups to customize each guest’s mug of cocoa. Elizabeth’s mom also baked Kiflings, German almond cookies that were a sentimental touch for the bride. “The guests loved it!” says Elizabeth. “Some people even told me they went back for seconds and thirds to try more flavors.” Sweet!
