Big-city sophistication defined the early-summer wedding of Brittany Elgin and Matthew Heady at the Exchange Ballroom in Northeast Portland. The couple, who wed on their ninth anniversary as a couple, dreamed of a romantic celebration with an urban edge. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour on the venue’s rooftop while taking in a picture-perfect view of Portland. The couple chose a muted palette of blush, gold, white and gray, which coordinated beautifully with the colors of the Portland skyline.
During their first look, Matthew mysteriously told Brittany to read the backs of the cards on which his vows were written during the ceremony. “I wasn’t sure what he meant, but as I was getting choked up during our vows, I started paying attention to the backs of his cards. He had written things that would make me laugh to help me get through the vows. Each card had something different written on it, and it was so incredibly sweet and thoughtful,” says Brittany.
