There's something truly magical about the intimacy of an elopement - especially when captured beautifully, like this one by Victoria Carlson Photography. Carlee and Garret let the stunning, watercolor-esque Sisters scenery do the heavy lifting, while just a few sweet, homespun details like the bride's delicate flower crown and a Pendleton blanket add a folksy feel to the entire affair. While they tied the knot, a single violinist set the tone as a handful of friends and family looked on. "Garret and Carlee met in March of 2009 while they were both attending college at Western Oregon University. Carlee had been involved in a car accident and Garret was one of the responding resident firefighters on the scene. Luckily, no one was hurt and they assumed they would never see each other again, until the following week when spring quarter began and they had a class together. They became friends and by the following year had started dating. Garret proposed on July 20, 2014 on top of South Sister while on a backpacking trip in the Three Sisters Wilderness and they were married October 12, 2014. Carlee and Garret chose an elopement because they were hoping for a small and intimate ceremony that would be special to them in a location that was meaningful to their lives. They chose Sisters, Oregon for the views of the Three Sisters mountains and because Sisters, Oregon was where they shared their first home together in 2011. After leaving Sisters in 2012 and moving around the state for the last few years, Sisters has always felt like home to Carlee and Garret no matter where they are living in Oregon."
