How They Met: While combing the Internet for a new bike, Travis, 35, stumbled upon a Craigslist ad posted by Alice, 30, in search of a mountain-biking partner. After several months of dating, they took a weeklong road trip and moved from Dallas, Texas, to Portland. How He Proposed: Standing at the edge of Moraine Lake in Alberta, Canada, after a long day of backpacking, Alice glimpsed a shooting star. When she turned to Travis to share her excitement, he was down on one knee. How They Wed: A ceremony at the courthouse was followed by a sunny citywide tour on rainbow-colored bikes and Portland Pedicabs adorned with streamers and soda cans. Guests dined picnic-style at Laurelhurst Park surrounded by Sauvie Island–sourced flowers and danced the night away in the couple’s carnival-themed, candlelit backyard. How They Live Happily Ever After: After a honeymoon to Opal Creek with their families and an exchange of vows deep in the forest, Travis returned to his position as the general manager at Breakside Brewery. Alice recently left her job as a communications manager and the couple is expecting their first child in August 2013. They live in the Hollywood neighborhood of Northeast Portland.
