Intimate Ceremony Followed by Jubilant Celebration at the Evergreen in Portland

Kelly Stone and Laura Hicks, once hailing from rival high schools, found their paths merging 15 years later at a local spin class, blossoming into a love story. When planning their nuptials, the pair narrowed their focus to adjectives that detailed each feeling they wanted to evoke: inviting, festive, cozy, elegant, modern and romantic. In a nod to their shared love for the Pacific Northwest and the essence of spring, the couple chose a stunning array of locally sourced flowers. Locally grown ranunculus, anemones, sweet peas, and hellebores were chosen for their beauty and significance to the couple and the area they call home. The intimate ceremony was attended by 30 of their closest family and friends, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. It took place on the venue's idyllic balcony against the backdrop of their chosen florals in a wild, unstructured hedge and winding vines. The newlyweds ensured their pets' presence was deeply felt, honoring them with signature cocktails with their namesakes, "The Honey" and "The Simon." Their celebration, while close-knit, didn't lack in merriment. Following the ceremony, the gathering expanded, welcoming 100 more guests for an evening of dancing, toasts and laughter. It was a day filled with genuine emotions, from the heartfelt first look—the main high point for Kelly and Laura—to the joyous moments shared with their guests.
