Fate brought Hayley Wolfe and Luke Oldenkamp together while she was still in physical therapy school. Hayley and her classmate were going to their final assigned clinical sites, but their locations got mixed up. Hayley was sent to her classmate's hometown, in Tillamook, Oregon, which ended up being a serendipitous mistake. Her classmate introduced Hayley to her friend Luke, to help her get acquainted with the town. Their feelings grew, and after she graduated, she came back to Tillamook to be with Luke and a new job at the local hospital. A few years later, he proposed to her after a breakfast at their favorite local spot in Oceanside.
They were all set to be wed with a beautiful lake in Yellowstone National Park as their backdrop, and already had their flights and cabin booked. Then the coronavirus pandemic took hold of the country. But this didn't stop Hayley and Luke. Their local pastor, Josh Myers (Tillamook Church of the Nazarene) offered to wed them earlier so that they could go into quarantine together, instead of going to Yellowstone.
Their nearest and dearest rose to the occasion and pulled together all the necessities for an intimate and rustic wedding. Their friend and photographer Cade, of Cade Waud Photography, drove 18 hours to get back to Oregon to help them capture their newly rescheduled nuptials. Luke's sister offered an arbor that she had used in her wedding, and his brother suggested using his farm's picturesque green field for a backyard reception. His mom ordered enough take-out food for all involved. Other family and friends worked on acquiring chairs, flowers and decoration, and within 24 hours they managed to arrange an exceptional wedding.
Afterwards, Hayley exclaimed, "I still can't believe we pulled it off! So now, we’re just waiting for this pandemic to pass and will hopefully get to plan a proper reception and honeymoon in the fall."
