Weddings are about celebrating unity and creating unforgettable moments. And while this day should be about the two of you and channeling your personalities so that the day is highly personal and perfectly you, what is "of the moment" will always play a role in the day. 2023 is in full swing and we're loving what we're seeing so far! From fashion and florals to food and photography, read on to see what trends industry experts predict will take off this year!
LIGHT IT UP
Wireless event lighting is HERE and it’s growing! We predict an even bigger splash next year as legitimate wireless event lighting grows even broader in scope. The most obvious trends we think will really take hold are new and even prettier ways to light otherwise dark pathways for wayfinding at outdoor weddings, as well as wireless decorative tabletop fixtures that create both ambiance, decoration, and usable light for reception areas and beyond. Additionally, there are things wireless is already doing that will only grow more this season; in particular, uplighting will keep growing in dominance as wireless options have their technologies tweaked for far better performance…now we can light whole forests and high-ceilinged ballroom walls without needing to plug in! ~ Dwayne Thomas, Greenlight Creative
BEST BUDS
We saw them in 2022 already, but I believe floral boutonnieres are here to stay! The convenience, the style, and the ability to pull your wedding's aesthetic even more to the forefront cannot be topped. ~ Ashley Lachney, Alston Mayger Events
IN & OUT
We believe that unique indoor-outdoor venues with a natural and modern element will continue to be the wedding trend of 2023. Couples strive for a wedding that feels personal and can represent the couples style for family and friends during their special day. The perfect wedding venue helps create the wedding couples vision. At The Allison Inn & Spa we strive to offer an all-inclusive, luxury, once in a life experience. ~ Kameron Holmberg, The Allison Inn & Spa
COLOR ME HAPPY
We are loving that couples are ready to start embracing fun, bright color palettes! These types of colors are perfect for a summer wedding, they create a joyous, chic and cheerful vibe. Adding to the trend is the 2023 Pantone Color of the Year, Viva Magenta, which we are so excited for! Even though it is certainly bold, it's a color that works wonderfully in wedding designs, whether it be as a pop with a peony in a bouquet, a fun patterned linen or a table lined with colored tapered candles. ~ Alisha Reicks-Sturgill, The Indigo Bride
BED OF ROSES
Using an item (whether that be greenery, florals or candlelight) en masse when it comes to your wedding design may seem like something only a minimalist would do, but this trend promises to pack a maximallist punch.
LESS IS MORE
We believe intimate weddings with guest counts of 50 or less will continue to trend. These smaller weddings allow the couple to pay more attention to details and creating a unique experience for guests. ~ Jessica Heigh, White Aspen Creative
BELLE OF THE BALL
Off-the-shoulder wedding gowns (with or without sleeves) offer a romantic and timeless look for those wishing to fulfill their fairytale dreams. Showing off the shoulders and chest, this classic silhouette flatters every shape.
THINGS ARE LOOKING UP
Hanging Centerpieces add instant drama, and really add in the wow factor to a reception! From loosely draped garlands, statement light fixtures covered in vines, lavish flower chandeliers to greenery garlands draped across the ceiling. We will see creative elements designed to hang, suspend, and appear to float, not only to fill the void of overhead space but to create an awe-factor that brings the eye to every aspect of the room design. ~ Savannah Bennett, Amanda Claire & Co
GO BIG, GO BOLD
After a few years trending for very minimal wedding palettes, we are expecting a turn towards more colorful weddings in the next seasons. We envision big, bold, brightness and optimism after so many years of limitations, and this will reflect with more color and richer hues. The Nines can support this trend by keeping our backgrounds and set ups fluid, flexible and neutral so the wedding couple can fully infuse our space with their vision and chosen color scheme. Our audio-visual department has innovative ideas with cutting edge technology to enhance the lighting or adding texture to any space. Endless options to add to any palette and compliment the scheme on every floor, wall and ceiling, tabletop and beyond. ~ Leslie Napoles, The Nines, A Luxury Collection Hotel
LET'S DANCE
We love seeing custom dance floors gaining popularity as they are the focal point of the reception. From custom logos to patterns and intricate designs, creating a statement piece that encourages guests to kick off their shoes and leave their mark on the dance floor can leave a lasting impression.
