With a brew in one hand and a cowboy hat in the other, Nick met Tovee at a country music festival in 2016. The Corvallis-based couple bonded over their love of beer and shared their first kiss during a Miranda Lambert song. Since beer brought them together, the couple thought it was only fitting to celebrate their wedding at the Deschutes Brewery in Bend, one of their favorite places.
“With our love of craft beer, a brewery venue was the natural choice. The other pieces fell right into place,” says Tovee. “Hops fit perfectly since we knew we wanted to incorporate greenery. We also wanted to keep the beer theme somewhat subtle. We asked our florist to incorporate hops into our bouquets and décor, and we also used loose hop flowers to decorate the cake and tables.” Floral bouquets in growler bottles collected by the groom lined the aisle, and custom coasters and pint glasses provided by the brewery served as favors. The cake featured a beer glass topper, and guests enjoyed a post-ceremony toast (with beer, of course) to the newlyweds. Want to plan an elegant, craft-beer-focused reception?
