Spring is (finally) here, and although us Oregon girls are still seeing weeks of rain and wind storms, the likes of which only Dorothy of Oz could understand, we are not discouraged! In fact, if anything, we are inspired by the hopeful little blossoms emerging all around us.
If you're anything like me and all these bursting buds and blooms are making you itch to get some dirt under your fingernails, and if you're a lucky Fall bride, now is the time to start planting. Whether or not you've got a green thumb, you're probably a bargain hunter, and growing your own accent flowers for your wedding is both brilliant, and in my opinion, quite charming! You can start your own flower box, plant them in your garden, or even delegate the task to the florally-gifted among your family and friends.
These beautiful buds, planted in the spring, can be used in a fall wedding for anything from bouquet accents, table centerpieces, hair adornments, cake decorations, or even sacrificially offered to your flower girl's petal basket.
With a little bit of research, and help from The Flower Expert, I compiled a list of a few spring flowers that, if planted now, will reap handsome rewards in the fall.
